With the Golden Root Bass Build Plan, you can create either a 1960s-inspired or a 1970s-inspired Jazz Bass — each with its own distinct character, construction details, and vintage personality.

The 1960s version captures that classic early Jazz Bass feel — lighter body contours, a slimmer neck profile, and the bright, articulate snap that defined the sound of a generation. Pair it with Haynes Vintage '60s J Bass pickups for period-correct tone straight from the bench.

The 1970s version goes deeper and bolder — chunkier proportions, a beefier neck, and that warm, growling low-end that drove funk, rock, and soul. Matched with Haynes Vintage '70s J Bass pickups, it's built to rumble.
